  • If the guardsman was armed with a M16 or M4, it was likely either set to semi-automatic or to a three round burst. Several shots in rapid succession at a person who was pointing what appeared to be a rifle isn't really all that surprising. Even if it was a pistol, it would be a similar situation.

  • My wife gets election day off from work as a holiday, along with most of Rhode Island state workers. Why isn't election day a national holiday? Why is election day a single day? Why can't it be a two or three day process?

  • I'm with you on this one. The two party system is poisonous to the very ideals of a democratic process. How often do you vote for a candidate rather than against the other guy. I don't remember the last candidate I was actually enthusiastic for.
